Hi, Christopher!
How did I end up in such situations? I wonder about this as well. LOL. Both happened by chance. Why did I stay on? Because I knew people there (both clothed and unclothed), and I stayed for the company.
I have never been in a situation where I was the only clothed person in a nudist environment. Otherwise, I would’ve left out of respect for the others.
I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and not assume that you pegged me as a nefarious clothed person. I’m just like you—eager to learn about life before I kick the proverbial bucket.
Naturism/nudism is a new life experience for me, even as a mere observer.
I understand it’s a lifestyle choice. One that has deeper natural, social, and spiritual meaning. One that gives an inner sense of freedom and enjoyment.
To me, it is not the same as being naked in a spa or Turkish bath (I’m a fan)…or in your example, sauna. There, we are naked out of necessity. Because who takes a bath with clothes on, right?
I’d go naked in a sauna but not on a nude beach. Because unlike you, I have not yet understood (or become comfortable) with the joy and pleasure of public nudity.
I’m still learning about your world.
And I keep wishing someone had given me tips (or a heads-up) before that first time in Switzerland.
I know some (clothed) people who would’ve been shocked or offended if that happened to them.
So if this article helps at least one non-nudist become more relaxed, open-minded, and non-judgmental, then I’m happy.
Thanks for reading and sharing your POV.
