Skydiving or bungee jumping? Pick one.

No, you can’t abstain. You must choose your method of free fall.

(If you’ve done either, you rock. If both, wow, you have guts! If you’ve never tried one, it’s okay. There’s always gardening or knitting — good for the soul!)

No, seriously, pick one.

If you have no idea what to choose, please, allow me to help you.

Wait, what’s that you asked? What are my credentials?

Okaayy. For my Big 30 many moons ago, I skydived, bungee-jumped, and hiked a glacier in New Zealand. In my youth, I loved drowning my sorrows in adrenaline.

There, you happy? Let’s continue.

First, let’s look at the common grounds. BOTH skydiving and bungee jumping…

  • require you to leap, whether from a plane or a ledge
  • strap you to someone (tandem instructor)…or something (bungee cord)
  • defy gravity and release an over-the-moon-happy chemical rush
  • push you out of your comfort zone
  • have risks, and make you sign a waiver
